Question: Dear doctor
I have been suffering with a headache for the past 4 days. The pain is in the back but also travels to the top of the head. At times dull aching, at times burning/ tingling, at times stabbing or like pins and needles. I have no nausia or unsteadiness or fever or vision problems. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 months ago. I am not on any medication. I also suffer from anxiety. Last head and neck mri 6 months ago and nothing abnormal. I hit my head accidentally at the corner of the wall 1 month ago, spoke to GP and he was not worried. Also it has been over a week that i have been suffering from back pain, it feels the pain is on my spine on a specific point, when a GP checked it she said that she thinks its a muscle insertion that causes it and the pain is not on the actual bone. The gp scared me when she mentioned that if i start having probs with faecal/urine incontinence or numbness its a medical emergency but this is something that she doesnt think that will happen. She thinks it might be the result of bad posture, tiredness or fibromyalgia. So why mention the worst case scenarios then? i am really worried now and dont know who i should go to. This is why i wanted your expert opinion
Many thanks.

Brief Answer:
There is no need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, your symptoms are suggestive of muscle tension pain. These are not suggestive of any serious disease. The doctor mentioned the worst case scenario in her enthusiasm of educating you. However, as you have anxiety, you are reading too much into that educational information. It does not apply to you.

You will get better with correct posture and back/neck extension exercises. If pain is severe, you could take MYOSPAZ forte tablets.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Dear doctor
Thank you for your advice. Is the myospaz forte tablets for both head and back pain relief?
So this head pain is caused by muscle tension?
It is very uncomfortable this constant feeling of burning/tingling/in my head; it is not the typical headache that we all experience. Can it last for long periods? it has already been 6 days since it started and its constant. Can my anxiety have caused this?
i will try to relax as you said that it is not serious.
Many thanks

Brief Answer:
Yes, myospaz forte will help in both.

Detailed Answer:
Both head and back pain would be relieved with myospaz forte.

Head pain is also caused by muscle tension, made worse by anxiety.

Try to relax and sleep well..
